Do you offer online therapy? What is the difference between in person and online therapy?
Yes, I offer therapy both virtually and in-person. With online therapy we will meet on the SimplePractice platform from the comfort of your home while in-person therapy will be conducted in my office in Carrollton, TX. The main difference in between online and in person therapy is essentially how we will meet. You will have to decide for yourself which would be a better option for you considering your health and where you are more likely to be engaged.

How do I know if you're the right therapist for me?
The best way to know if I'm the right therapist for you is to come in for an intake and we can sit down together to discuss what your goals are and if I can work with you on them. It is also a great way to get to know me and my therapy style and see for yourself if that is what you need in a therapist.
1
What should I expect on my first visit?
Your first ever visit with me will be an intake session where we will discuss what you're struggling with, what your goals are, and how we can work on those things together. During this time I will also go through the paperwork which discusses confidentiality, the cancellation policy, and the services contract. It is normal to feel nervous about meeting a new therapist for the first time, my goal is to provide a safe and welcoming place for you to open up and explore.
2
How long does therapy take?
The length of treatment will depend on you; your goals, symptoms, history, and impacts. Depending on these factors, treatment can range from a few sessions to several months or years. Usually sessions are conducted once a week for about 50 minutes each for the best outcomes.
3
Will my privacy be protected?
In almost every instance, therapy is absolutely confidential. The therapist is required to maintain confidentiality about everything said in sessions between the two of you, just like a doctor is required to keep your records private. However, the only instances where that is not applicable is if you inform your therapist that you or someone you know is in imminent risk of harm or death, or when using an insurance service.

Do you take insurance? What is a sliding scale?
I am in-network for Aetna, and I can also provide a superbill for my out-of-network clients and help with reimbursement. I also offer limited rates on a sliding scale. Sliding scale therapy refers to treatment priced by each person's income and dependents. This fee structure exists to help make therapy more affordable for people living at a lower income level.
