About Me

My name is Ramsha (she/her) and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I am a graduate of the Graduate School of Social Work at the University of Houston where I earned my Master’s in Social Work (MSW). Prior to completing my MSW,  I received my Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and Human Resource Development at the University of Houston. I have worked at the Petoskey Center for over five years and completed my LMSW Fellowship while working in the Intensive Outpatient Program with Psychodynamic and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).

In addition to my training, my work is also informed by my lived experiences of being a first-generation Indian-American and Muslim. My background has provided me with the ability to connect with others through deep empathy, introspection, and understanding. Through my experiences, both personal and professional, I have found I connect most with women and young adults/adolescents

My Approach and Clients

My experiences with getting my Master’s in Social Work at the University of Houston and working at the Petoskey Center and the Menninger Clinic have led me down an incredible path that has taught me so much about myself and therapy. I work with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, self-esteem, life transitions, and career exploration. I utilize a person-centered and an eclectic therapeutic approach while incorporating psychoeducation, mindfulness, cognitive behavioral, strengths-based, and psychodynamic techniques. My clinical interests include meeting each unique individual with cultural humility, empathy, and patience to help them reach their goals and live a more fulfilling life.

My clients are typically motivated, ready to dig deep, and are active participants in their therapy. This means being able to receive questions and insights that take them deeper into their experiences and sense of self. I am a very curious and active participant but do not approach therapy as if I am an expert in you, you are the expert in yourself. We are working together to figure out what has been hidden to make it aware so that you can make the changes you want in your life.

This journey is unique for everyone and if you’re interested in starting this experience, you are welcome to contact me for an initial consultation. I’m proud of you for taking your first step!
